Guaranty Building, est. 1896; 28 Church Street

Guaranty Building Tour

The Guaranty Building is one of Buffalo’s most beautiful buildings and an important site in architectural history. Join us for this interior and exterior tour of this Sullivan masterpiece. During this guided tour, you’ll learn about the history of the building, the architectural elements that make it so special, and why it serves as an important case for preservation.

The tour meets in the Pearl Street lobby of the Guaranty Building (140 Pearl Street) Fridays at 2 pm and Saturdays at 12:30pm and lasts approximately one hour. The cost is $15. Reservations are required for this tour; walk-ons will NOT be admitted.

Hard Hat Tours

Get an exclusive look at some of the area’s most exciting adaptive reuse projects in our Hard Hat Tour series, generously sponsored by M&T Bank. Led by project developers, these behind-the-scenes tours include architectural details and final plans. Come and see the before, during, and after of a building like you’ve never seen it before. EB Green Tour de Force

Travel through the streets of Buffalo and time to discover the indelible mark E. B. Green left on the city of Buffalo. See iconic as well as lesser known buildings to appreciate the genius of the man whose career spanned over 70 years and produced over 200 buildings in Buffalo. This special bike tour is open to riders of all levels and includes 10-12 miles of moderately paced biking. Visit our calendar for a list of upcoming rides.

Terra Cotta City!

Terra cotta is one of the oldest ornamental building materials and since the 19th century it’s been used on many of Buffalo’s iconic downtown buildings. Join PBN for a jam-packed, magical terra cotta mystery tour where we’ll hear all about the technology and methods used to not only build but preserve these terra cotta landmarks over the years. PBN’s Christiana Limniatis will be your terra cotta spirit guide as you see extraordinary examples like the Guaranty Building, Electric Tower, and Calumet Building.

The tour will meet on the ground floor of the Market Arcade (617 Main Street). This magical terra cotta mystery tour will happen rain or shine so dress appropriately! City Hall Tour

PBN’s tour of City Hall is currently on hiatus due to the pandemic. When offered, this tour was named one of the “100 Things Every Western New Yorker Should Do” by the Buffalo News and is a FREE guided walking tour that takes you through one of Buffalo’s most significant architectural treasures. One of the largest city halls in America, this tour will give you the opportunity to see this Art Deco masterpiece inside and out. The tour normally includes the lobby, Common Council Chambers, the Mayor’s Office, and the best view of Buffalo on the Observation Deck.
