Technical Services

Preservation works best in communities where its principles are so deeply rooted that efforts and initiated and supported by a variety of public, civic, and private organizations and individuals. We at Preservation Buffalo Niagara are committed to helping historic property owners maintain, rehabilitate, and restore their buildings and to do so, we can provide technical assistance in a variety of ways:

Surveys, National Register Nominations, and Local Landmarks

Undertaking surveys and developing local, State, and National Register historic districts and landmarks, gives communities the information to determine what should be protected, and expands the tools available with which to do so. PBN can assist directly with these preservation planning tools or connect you with granting agencies and consultants to get the work done.

PBN firmly believes that a calculated, community-minded approach is essential to successfully protecting, preserving, and celebrating our region’s historic resources. Through our education and outreach initiatives, PBN empowers Wester New York communities to champion historic preservation as a means for creating a more culturally-rich, vibrant, affordable, and sustainable community.

Finding Funding

PBN can help identify potential funding sources for your historic building project and assist in determining eligibility and applying to incentive programs including historic tax credits.
