The Dun Building: Past, Present, and Future Tour

Step inside one of Buffalo’s most iconic downtown landmarks and experience the remarkable transformation of the Dun Building. This special behind-the-scenes tour will take you through the building’s rich history, its ongoing rehabilitation, and the exciting vision for its future.
Built in 1895 as the home of the R.G. Dun & Company mercantile agency, the Dun Building has stood as a symbol of Buffalo’s growth and prosperity for more than a century. As we explore the interior, you’ll learn about the building’s architectural features, its role in Buffalo’s commercial history, and the people and businesses that once filled its offices.
The tour will also provide a rare opportunity to see the extensive restoration work currently underway. Discover how historic materials and craftsmanship are being preserved while the building is adapted for a new chapter of use. Project representatives will share insights into the rehabilitation process, the challenges of restoring a historic high-rise, and what is planned for the future of this downtown landmark. Join us for an exciting look at the past, present, and future of one of Buffalo’s architectural treasures.
Wake the Dead: 72 Sycamore St.

PBN is restoring an 1840s (former) brothel into our new office, offices for our local nonprofits, and a Preservation Resource Center. You can learn more about this project HERE.
As construction has been going on, we have been experiencing some unexplained things. Hearing voices when no one is there, footsteps, and temperature changes. 72 Sycamore has a colorful history, and we feel the construction may be stirring up the spirits of those who passed here. That is why we are hosting two tours on the most haunting night of the year.
72 Sycamore: History Tour
6 PM – 8 PM
This is a tour that focuses strictly on the dark history of 72 Sycamore. We will deep dive into brothel life in the 1800s, the notorious Eliza Qurik – the madam who sparked Sycamore Street, and the dark history that followed her death; all while exploring the halls of our future home!
72 Sycamore: Wake the Dead
10 PM – 1 AM
This tour will cover the dark history that happened in the building but also allows time for free-flowing exploration and ghost hunting, and it will end with a séance in Eliza’s room. Amateur or professional ghost hunters are welcome. You can bring any cameras, gear, psychic communication devices, and anything else you need to conjure the spirits.
