Featuring prizes sponsored by Stitch Buffalo, The Story Garage, and Woodhouse Day Spa and our keynote speakers Buffalo native and Producer/Director Susan Hunt and Jonathan Moody, President and CEO of the award-winning Columbus, Ohio based architecture firm Moody Nolan.
Susan Hunt, a Buffalo native, has been at the intersection of lifestyle, sports, and reality programming on broadcast, cable, radio, and streaming as a host, executive producer, director, and content developer. A seasoned storyteller, Susan’s expertise includes sports, travel, medical, travel, environmental, food, and wine. Susan’s on-air career fronting programming has included Discovery, Fox, ABC Sports, ESPN, USA Network, PBS, Travel, and HGTV. Her longtime association with Pie Town Productions, one of the country’s preeminent reality production companies, dates to 1996 when she hosted Pie Town’s first venture, Great Country Inns. Following stints with PBS, Susan returned to Pie Town as a director and supervising producer on HGTV for House Hunters, House Hunters Renovation, Tiny House Hunters, and most recently, as a producer and director on Food Network’s docuseries, Summer Rush. She was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2016.
Driven by a passion to continue his father’s legacy, Jonathan D. Moody has entrenched himself in firm leadership driving growth and innovation. Moody Nolan has grown to over 230 employees and 11 offices across the nation. The firm’s designs have now won over 300 design citations including 47 from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and 44 the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA). Jonathan has helped continue and extend the firm’s position as the largest African-American owned architecture firm. Moody Nolan continues to garner national attention by promoting “diversity by design.”
Jonathan Moody approaches architecture with a focused mission—to bring transformational design to underserved communities, to educate and mentor underserved youth toward careers in architecture, and to become, a visible, present servant in underserved communities. As a keynote speaker at the 2021 Preservation Awards, he will probe the future of preservation practices concerning cultural and sustainable community planning highlighting preservation projects across the country and right here in Buffalo.
Our 2021 Preservation Awards will be produced by Aitina Fareed-Cooke, founder of Get Fokus’d Productions which provides project based storytelling through photography and film as well as digital media workshops for youth and young adults in various schools, programs, and organizations.
